A press release claiming to reveal the true identity of the mysterious founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, at a press conference on October 31, 2024, the 16th anniversary of the release of the Bitcoin White Paper, has been circulating online today.

According to the announcement, a person claiming to be "Satoshi Nakamoto" stated:

It's time to officially reveal my identity. I am facing a major legal challenge, and I believe the world should know the truth

The event organizers also promised to conduct a "live demonstration" to verify the authenticity of the founder and plan to showcase the "birthplace of Bitcoin and memory blockchain technology".

Community questioning voices

Of course, many people in the cryptocurrency community have expressed doubts about this statement. Cullen Hoback, the head of HBO documentaries who previously attempted to reveal Satoshi Nakamoto's true identity, pointed out that the upcoming Satoshi Nakamoto revelations are a scam.

In addition, according to information disclosed by the community, event organizer Charles Anderson has a close relationship with another British businessman, Stephen Mollah, and both are habitual fraudsters. The latter has even been accused of fraud in the past for claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto. Therefore, this so-called press conference is likely another scam planned by the two individuals.
